Sport Psychology
Applied Sport Psychology is a specialty which focuses on an array of variables related to teams, athletes, and performance. More specifically, Sport Psychology and CBT dovetail well given the nature of sport and accomplishing goals. Athletes and other types of performers regularly use cognitive strategies to support their physical performance. In sport and performance, training the brain is equally as important as training the body. For seasoned athletes, brain training and mental strategy development is a routine aspect of performance preparation. The Association of Applied Sport Psychology is the national sport psychology organization in the United States and is a reputable resource for additional information about Sport Psychology.
